While studying at Hampton University, where he pursued sports journalism, he got the opportunity to write for the newspaper: “The Hampton Script.” During his time writing for the newspaper, Eggleston published a myriad of sports articles, (which can be viewed on this website.) However, Eggleston ultimately found that this style of writing was not for him, which led him to venture back into creative writing.
“Math was never my subject I excelled in, but when it came to English, and writing, my grades were always above par. I even had a teacher when I was at Hampton University wanting me to switch my major to English based off of one class I had with her. She saw the framework of a good writer in me.”
His most prized work to date is his first published book: “My Football Story”, which follows his journey as a high school football player.
Not only is he an accomplished writer, but he also prides himself as being an advocate for hydrocephalus. (You can find more information by clicking the following link)
While still pursuing and enhancing his creative writing skills, Eggleston teaches Physical Education to elementary students and continues to speak on hydrocephalus abilities and everyday life skills.
